Just a little outside the city, historic towns such as Huonville and Richmond provide delightful excursions. For those with a little more time meanwhile, a trip by ferry to Bruny Island, a wildlife cruise past the coastline’s crags, caves and sea cliffs or a visit to the World Heritage-listed wilderness of Southwest National Park will reveal what a very special part of the world this is.
